A Typographic Study of Botanical Art and Garden Mapping .

Typeface: Faune

This publication combines the elements of botanical art with the typeface Faune. In this project, I presented a systematic exploration of the aesthetic relationship between the versatile Faune typeface and a selection of botanic drawings, primarily featuring the renowned illustrations of Walter Hood Fitch.

Drawing inspiration from botanical garden maps, I designed the layout using columns and text frames to present the content in an organized manner. The grid-based system, which he developed from these maps, further emulates the structure of botanical gardens. This approach showcases the adaptability of the Faune typeface within the context of botanical art, highlighting the harmonious connection between faune and flora.
